On a Honda motorcycle, Fred Moxham III, 35, of Warrenton, Va., was driving around a curve on State Road 11 at about 2:15 p.m. March 13, in Flagler County, when he struck a guardrail.

Due to the collision, passenger Brooke McCabe, 34, of Fredericksburg, Va., was ejected off the bike and over the guardrail, according to the report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Moxham drove briefly on the paved shoulder before falling to its left side. He fell off, and the bike slid on the paved shoulder before stopping.

McCabe sustained critical injuries from the ejection and the fall into the ditch. Moxham’s injuries were rated “serious.” Both were transported to Halifax Hospital.

Neither wore helmets. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
