The Flagler County School Board will recognize retiring employees Tuesday, June 5.
More than 50 retiring Flagler County School District employees will be sent out in style 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, during a recognition ceremony hosted by the School Board, in the Government Services Building.
Similar to last year, when a choral troupe performed “Jersey Boys” and groups from the Youth String Orchestra Program played for the retiring teachers and staff, retirees can expect entertainment again this year.
“One sentence could never describe the contributions and the impact that our retirees have had on the Flagler County School district,” said Harriet Holiday, human resources director. “The years of service each individual has provided in their respective roles … have touched the lives of children as well as the adults through their commitment, dedication, compassion, time and talents.”
Retiring staffers’ roles vary from bus drivers and guidance counselors to custodians.
Jim Devine, with 36 years as Flagler’s testing coordinator, has the most years of any staff member.
Sherri Hunter, counselor and former teacher, claims the second-most years, with 35.
