Over 90 colleges and universities, businesses, government, military and nonprofits participated in the third annual College and Career Fair, presented by Flagler Schools and the Flagler County Education Foundation, on Sept. 25 at the Palm Coast Community Center.
A record-breaking crowd of over 800 students and families explored opportunities in higher education, technical trades, business and other careers.
The event provided high school students with direct access to college admissions advisors, trade unions, regional employers and military representatives. Participants received hands-on guidance regarding financial aid applications, resume building and skills training programs.
"An event of this scale does not happen without a strong community foundation," Maryiotti Johnson, the Ed Foundation's assistant director of finance and operations, said in a press release. "Thanks to the generosity of our community partners and local businesses, we were able to provide a high-impact, zero-cost event that directly connects our youth with life-changing opportunities."
Organizers are already laying the groundwork for next year’s fair, aiming to expand regional business participation and trade interactive booths to meet the growing momentum.
