Twenty local restaurants. Twenty specialty burgers. One coveted title.
Pumphouse BBQ was named the winner of the 2026 Ormond Beach Burger Week on Wednesday, Sept. 23, with the Burger Week committee awarding them their third trophy for the competition. Pumphouse BBQ previously won in 2023 and 2024.
The Burger Week Committee honored co-owners Rob West and Bryan Brymer, who cheered with excitement upon finding out.
“This man right here made 882 burgers last week,” West said, speaking of Brymer. “Thank you to my kitchen who held it down. Thank you so much. What a great group you guys are. This is amazing that you guys put this on for us and we’re super grateful.”
This year was a record breaking year for Ormond Burger Week thanks to increased community involvement. The 20 participating restaurants sold a combined 8,795 burgers. With a dedicated $1 from every burger sold, Burger Week raised a rounded up total of $9,000 for Provision Packs, a local nonprofit who provides food to students in need and their families in Volusia and Flagler County.
“I had no idea it would be so much," West said.
Tyler Grant, of Gary Yeomans Ford, was the presenting sponsor of the event. He was happy to be involved in such a good cause.
“What a fun time giving back to Provision Packs,” Grant said. “Not a better cause."
The Burger Week Committee said that double the amount of votes were submitted this year compared to 2025.
“This community is amazing,” West said. “We're so happy to be here. Thank you for your votes and we'll keep making good burgers”
This year, Ormond Garage came in second place, while third and fourth place went to Good Vibes Scratch Kitchen and Florida Seafood Co., respectively.
West credited his restaurant's creation, "The Smokeshow Popper Burger" for the iwn.
“[It’s] our house sweet sauce, smoked jalapeños with smoked bacon on it, mixed with our burger that's a real half pound burger,” West said. “It's cooked to perfection.”
Nine people tried the burgers from all 20 participating restaurants. Anthony Whited was one of them.
“I took a week off from work to do it,” Whited said. “I had a little scoring card.”
In addition to Whited, Bill Finnie, Chad Parsons, Jamie Eisenhauer, Jimmy Robbins, Seila Shreve, Erika Barger, Brendan Surratt and Steven Cote also tried all 20 burgers.
“It was a lot harder [to choose] this year than last year,” Cote said. “I have a rating system.”
There are few who can match the commitment to Burger Week more than attorney and food blogger Erika Barger, of The Dining Docket.
“I’ve determined based on my participation, that I have consumed 66 hamburgers for Ormond Beach Burger Week over the last four years,” Barger said. “That's a lot of hamburgers. I haven't met a burger that I didn't like."
Many restaurants received kudos from foodies, because of the atmosphere and the welcoming attitude.
“The friendliest was the Ormond Diner,” Whited said.
The committee hopes that this will be a reminder for Ormond Beach residents to support local restaurants.
"It’s been a great boost for some of these new restaurants,” committee member Lindsay Lockhart said.
