The facility's peanut butter drive started with Paradise Pointe staff, residents, families and friends coming together to donate jars throughout the summer, according to a news release. In August, Paradise Pointe expanded the effort by hosting its “Fill the Pantry & Fill the Heart” networking event and inviting community referral partners and friends to participate by bringing peanut butter donations.

“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this possible,” said Darlinda Copeland, CEO and administrator of Paradise Pointe. “What started as a simple idea to collect peanut butter grew into a true community effort. Seeing our residents, families, staff and community partners come together to support local children has been incredibly meaningful.”

Provision Packs started the school year by serving approximately 439 kids (6,146) meals in week 1, 768 kids (10,752 meals) in week 2, and 779 kids (10,906 meals) in week 3 to students across 20 schools throughout Volusia and Flagler counties.
