Two Palm Coast residents were arrested after a hit-and-run crash that injured another driver, with investigators saying the pair tried to conceal the damaged truck inside a garage, according to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.

On Aug. 28, deputies responded to a crash at Russell Drive and Ruth Drive in Palm Coast. The Sheriff’s Office said a silver Dodge Ram pickup truck struck another vehicle with enough force to break its engine block and injure the driver.

Investigators said both occupants of the truck got out after the crash, collected pieces of the truck that had broken off and were lying in the roadway, and then left the scene.

A witness reported seeing a silver Dodge Ram with front-end damage speeding away. A tip later led deputies to a home on Roxbury Lane, less than a mile from the crash. Surveillance video from a neighbor showed the damaged truck returning to the home about three minutes after the crash, with one person running to the front door while the other opened the garage, the Sheriff’s Office said. The truck was then driven into the garage and the door was closed.

Deputies identified the driver as 43-year-old Nina Holley of Palm Coast and the passenger as 38-year-old Matthew Green of Palm Coast. Investigators said Holley’s driver’s license was suspended and that she had four previous convictions for driving with a suspended license.

“You can try to hide the evidence, but you can’t hide it from the Sheriff’s Office,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “These two crashed into someone, injured them, and then figured picking up the pieces and shutting the garage door would make it all disappear.”

Staly added: “If you cause a crash and run, we are going to find you and hold you accountable.”

Holley was arrested on charges of leaving the scene of a crash with injuries, tampering with evidence and driving with a suspended license as a third or subsequent offense. Green was arrested on charges of tampering with evidence and accessory after the fact.

Both were taken to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility. Holley was released on $7,500 bond, while Green was being held without bond at the time of the Sheriff’s Office news release.

The Sheriff’s Office also detailed both suspects’ previous criminal histories. Holley has felony convictions involving controlled substances and has also been convicted of felony petit theft, retail theft and trespassing. Green has served three separate terms in state prison for convictions that include sale of oxycodone, attempted robbery, grand theft of a firearm and attempted burglary of a structure. He was released from his most recent prison term in June 2025.

Deputies had also been at the Roxbury Lane home earlier in the summer. On Aug. 6, the FCSO Special Investigations Unit, Major Case Unit and SWAT team served a search warrant there as part of an ongoing overdose death investigation. The agency said fentanyl and drug paraphernalia were seized and three people were arrested, including Green, who was charged with possession of fentanyl, tampering with evidence and possession of drug paraphernalia. That investigation remains ongoing.
