Sept. 6
The neighbor came knocking — with a hammer
Early morning — B-Section, Palm Coast
Aggravated assault and burglary. A 58-year-old Palm Coast man was arrested after deputies said he used a hammer and power tools to break through a wall separating his duplex from his neighbor’s home while making threats.
According to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, the neighbor recorded the man hammering and using a power tool while yelling threats, including, “I’m going to be crawling through the walls and figure out ways to make your life hell.”
Deputies found a hole about the size of a softball in the shared wall. The man refused to come outside for more than 90 minutes before deputies convinced him to surrender.
Deputies found a hammer and electric string trimmer covered in drywall residue near the hole.
The man was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and burglary with assault or battery. He was taken to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility and held without bond.
Sept. 11
Looking for a well-lit place to stop
Just before midnight — Kingswood Drive, Palm Coast
Fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement. A 42-year-old Palm Coast man was arrested after deputies said he refused to stop for a traffic stop and continued driving through several roads and parking lots.
According to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy attempted to stop the man on Kingswood Drive after observing a traffic infraction. Despite the deputy activating his emergency lights and siren, the man continued driving erratically.
The vehicle eventually stopped in the parking lot of the Palm Coast Professional Complex off Old Kings Road North, where deputies conducted a high-risk traffic stop and took the man into custody.
Deputies said the man gave conflicting explanations for why he didn't stop, first saying he was looking for a well-lit area and later saying he didn't see the deputy behind him.
The man was arrested for fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer with lights and sirens activated. He was taken to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility and later released on $2,500 bond.
