Three juveniles were arrested on Sept. 7, after the Ormond Beach Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit determined they fired multiple rounds from a semi-automatic handgun into an Ormond Beach residence.
At approximately 4:07 a.m. Sept. 7, Ormond Beach police officers were dispatched to a residence within Woodmere Circle in reference to a shooting.
Officers arrived and found evidence that the residence had been fired upon, including a bullet fragment lodged between two panes of glass, a bullet hole and numerous spent casings along the roadway.
Detectives interviewed the reporting party and surrounding neighbors as part of the investigation. From there, it was discovered that the reporting party’s child had been involved in a drug-related incident with the juveniles who allegedly fired at the residence.
Following an extensive investigation, the Criminal Investigations Unit identified and located the three juveniles involved. One of the juveniles is 15 years old. The other two are 17.
All three were charged with felonies, including shooting into a building and aggravated assault.
