The Flagler County Drug Court Foundation held its sixth annual Overdose Awareness Walk on Aug. 31.

Sixty participants walked from Wadsworth Park in Flagler Beach across the bridge to Veterans Park.

Organizations participating in the event included Narcotics Anonymous, Alcoholic Anonymous, Nar-Anon, Al-Anon and other local groups. The drug court foundation distributed 130 doses of Narcan. Speakers shared stories about lost love ones while others spoke about their journeys to recovery.

"The more we share, the more awareness we can give our community of the addiction epidemic that affects not only our community, but our country," said Flagler County Drug Court Foundation Vice President Kimberly Schattner.
