Battery on a law enforcement officer. Police arrested a 74-year-old Ormond Beach woman who bit an officer who was trying to restrain her to place her into protective custody.
According to a police report, officers were dispatched to the home in reference to a disturbance. Upon their arrival, the woman was standing behind a car that was trying to leave the garage. The woman claimed the driver had hit and pushed her.
The driver told police that the woman becomes aggressive when she drinks alcohol, and that she hides Four Lokos in the home and drinks them throughout the day, which the woman later admitted to police she had done.
Due to her intoxication level, police attempted to secure her, at which point the woman resisted and bit the officer in the process. She was transported to the hospital for medical evaluation, where she became combative and claimed law enforcement and the driver were trying to "kill her and steal her money," the report states.
