The Palm Coast Fire Department's Hall of Terror makes its return to Fire Station 21, 9 Corporate Drive, on Oct. 30-31, 7-10 p.m. each night. This year’s theme will be a return to cinematic horror’s roots with "Universal Monsters."
Founded in 2001 by Former Palm Coast Fire Chief Jerry Forte, and former Lt. Rich Cline, the event has evolved over the last quarter-century from a small decorative Halloween event with candy giveaways, to a full-scale haunted house. Last year’s Hall of Terror drew nearly 6,000 visitors over two nights.
PCFD Lt. Dan Driscoll has been the event’s “Boo Master” for the last 13 years. He has announced that this will be his final year as the event's director.
“It’s a bittersweet feeling to be leaving the helm of the Hall of Terror after this year, but I have no doubt that our new Boo Masters are ready to steer this event into the future and continue its tremendous success,” Driscoll said.
Volunteers are needed for all aspects of the event, including performers, technical assistants, makeup artists, production design, etc. If you are interested in participating, please fill out the volunteer form at bit.ly/4ymJ7Df. High School students may use this as an opportunity to get community service hours. A special meeting and rehearsal will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 4-5:30 p.m. at Fire Station 21.
The Hall of Terror will be open 7-10 p.m. Oct. 30-31. A low-sensory hour for individuals with sensory sensitivities, is scheduled 6-7 p.m. each night. Parking is available at the fire station's adjacent parking lot. Additional overflow parking will be available at Kohl’s parking lot if necessary. The Hall of Terror is free and open to all ages. Parents or guardians are recommended to accompany children under 13. Food Trucks will be on site.
