ICI Homes has promoted Nina Lockett to vice president of customer experience and company excellence.

Lockett joined ICI Homes, a Daytona Beach-based homebuilder, in 2017 as a real estate analyst and was later promoted to director of Customer Care. Most recently, she served as corporate director of customer care and amenity development.

In the newly created role, Lockett will support ICI Homes' focus on customer engagement and efforts to elevate company standards, a press release states.

“We are pleased to recognize Nina with this well-deserved promotion,” said Tom McCall, chief operating officer of ICI Homes. “ICI Homes commitment to exceptional customer experiences is fundamental in everything we do. Nina’s business and real estate expertise, thoughtful, customer-focused approach, and passion for community engagement will play a vital role supporting ICI Homes’ growth strategy and innovations that benefit our operations and our homebuyers.”

Lockett is a graduate of the University of Florida, where she earned a master's degree in real estate and a bachelor's degree in business administration, with a specialization in finance. She serves as a board member for the Halifax Health Foundation and the Daytona State College Foundation. Lockett also supports the Food Brings Hope Community and its VCAN initiative.

Smart Technologies deploys advanced managed browser security

Smart Technologies of Florida, a company based in Daytona Beach, is rolling out a browser security solution designed to dramatically reduce cybersecurity risks with its advanced managed browser security.

According to a press release, Smart Technologies’s “safe browsing” experience gives organizations the ability to proactively block malicious content, phishing sites, and harmful web destinations before they reach employees. Strict filtering enables employees to freely utilize the power of the internet, artificial intelligence and key software without incurring unnecessary organizational risk.

“The web browser is the most used and most vulnerable tool in any organization,” said Robert Doucette, president at Smart Technologies. “While phishing emails are sometimes easier to detect, this technology allows us to protect our clients from the vast majority of web-based threats without relying on every individual employee to make the right call every single time.”

Domain Name System (DNS) filters out dangerous websites, downloads, and suspicious content. The technology also helps with password management and credential safety, distraction reduction and productivity, the press release states.

“You can’t rely on employee training alone to prevent every mistake,” Doucette said. “While education is also necessary, we’ve seen that the most effective security should be automatic, non-invasive, and effective. That’s what we’re offering our clients now—a tool that protects their business without slowing them down.”
