I am Kristin Deaton and it is my honor to serve as your Ormond Beach Zone 3 City Commissioner. I am proud to be your voice in city government making informed decisions that put residents first. As I hope to earn your vote again this November, let me share what drives my commitment to keep Ormond safe, beautiful, and affordable.
Born and raised in Ormond, I am a lifelong resident and proud Seabreeze graduate. A devoted wife and mom, my husband Keith and I are delighted to raise our two sons in the hometown that has given me so much.
Keith has spent two decades working at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, where he is a triple graduate. We are passionate supporters of youth sports and spend most of our free time watching our kids play baseball and run track and cross country. As a champion of our wonderful parks and recreation, I fight to preserve our sports fields, green spaces and amenities for families.
I enjoy my career at local Guild Mortgage as sales manager and loan originator. I studied business at the University of South Alabama and ERAU, and I’ve spent the past 15 years in the finance industry. I know first-hand how important it is to support our small businesses and promote smart, sustainable growth while maintaining low tax rates. I really enjoy digging into the details of the city’s budget and finding ways to make sure our tax dollars are being used responsibly.
I am grateful for the honors and accolades I’ve received as a young professional and woman in business, but serving my community is really what drives me. I am a graduate of the Ormond Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program, and served on the Women United board, where I co-chaired initiatives like Power of the Purse and Chicks for Kicks.
Public safety is my foremost priority. I’ve served as a board member of the Ormond Beach Police Pension Board and Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida. I sincerely admire the work of our first responders and am humbled by endorsements from the local unions of Law Enforcement Officers and Firefighters Association, as well as Sheriff Chitwood, County Council Members Kent, Johansson and Reinhart, and Senator Leek.
