He didn't hit anyone, just a stop sign
10:37 p.m. — Seminole Woods Boulevard and Sesame Boulevard, Palm Coast
Leaving the scene of a crash. A 66-year-old Palm Coast man was arrested after deputies said he crashed his SUV into a stop sign, street sign, light pole and concrete slabs before driving home.
According to a Flagler County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, deputies arrived to find the damaged signs and light pole but no vehicle. A deputy noticed an oil trail and followed it down Sesame Boulevard, onto Selma Trail and eventually to a home on Sellner Place.
There, deputies found a white Nissan Rogue with front-end damage and a large amount of oil leaking underneath it. The damage was consistent with the crash, the report states.
The man admitted he had hit something but said it wasn't another person. Deputies explained that because he had caused property damage, he was required to remain at the scene and notify law enforcement.
The man continued to say he didn't understand why he was being arrested because he "never hit anyone else, just a stop sign," according to the report.
He was arrested for leaving the scene of a crash involving property damage, medically cleared at a hospital and then taken to the Flagler County Inmate Facility.

Berry bad idea
9:53 a.m. — Matanzas Woods Parkway, Palm Coast
Unlawful harvesting. A 52-year-old East Palatka man was arrested after a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officer said he caught him harvesting saw palmetto berries on public land without a permit or permission.
The FWC officer reported seeing the man actively harvesting the berries on Flagler County and Palm Coast property along Matanzas Woods Parkway.
According to the arrest report, the man did not have an active permit to harvest saw palmetto berries on county or city property and had not received permission from the landowner.
He was arrested on a third-degree felony charge of unlawfully harvesting saw palmetto berries and booked into the Flagler County jail.
