The city of Palm Coast has launched a new webpage providing residents with information about three proposed City Charter amendments that will appear on the Nov. 3 General Election ballot.
The webpage is designed as an educational resource to help Palm Coast voters understand what each proposed amendment would change, as well as what would remain in place if an amendment is not approved by voters.
“The goal of this resource is to provide residents with clear, factual information about the proposed Charter amendments so they can better understand what will be presented on the ballot,” City Manager Michael McGlothlin said. “The city is not advocating for or against any of the amendments. Our role is to provide information and help residents understand the proposals before they make their own decisions at the polls.”
The three proposed Charter amendments address different areas of City government:
The webpage provides a summary of each amendment, explains what would happen if voters approve or reject each proposal, and includes the proposed ballot language and additional information about the amendments.
The proposed amendments were developed through the City's Charter Review process. The Charter Review Committee reviewed the City Charter, considered public input, and submitted recommendations to the City Council. The City Council subsequently reviewed the recommendations and approved the proposed amendments for placement on the November ballot.
Each proposed amendment will appear as a separate question on the ballot, allowing voters to consider each proposal independently. The Charter amendments will take effect only if approved by a majority of voters.
