Little Artist Workshop with ELC

When: 10:30 a.m. to noon

Where: Ormond Memorial Art Museum and Gardens, 78 E. Granada Blvd., Ormond Beach

Details: Children ages 3-5 will use their imaginations and develop fine motor skills as they explore one of the elements of art. Afterward, the group will enjoy a story time experience. A parent or caregiver must be present with their child during the workshop. Offered in partnership with the Early Learning Coalition of Flagler & Volusia. Free program. Registration is required. Beats and Eats

Details: Beats and Eats is a new monthly community event that combines the familiar Food Truck Tuesday experience with live concert entertainment from the Palm Coast Concert Series. The band is Stealing Vanity and the beneficiary will be Parkinson's of Flagler/Palm Coast.

Flagler County Orchid Society monthly meeting

When: 6:30-9 p.m.

Where: Trinity Presbyterian Church, 156 Florida Park Drive N., Palm Coast

Details: Attend this monthly meeting, which includes Bingo. Costs $10 for 8 games to win an orchid plant. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Starts at 7 p.m. Refreshments served. All are welcome.

Friday, Aug. 28

Beachside Garage open house

When: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: Birthplace of Speed Park, 21 Ocean Shore Blvd., Ormond Beach

Details: The Motor Racing Heritage Association is hosting this open house. Volunteers will be on hand for tours and information. The Garage holds the two replica race cars that competed in the first sanctioned race on the beach in March of 1903. Call 386-676-7675.

Acoustic jam session

When: 2-5 p.m.

Where: Mala Compra Community Center, 79 Mala Compra Road, Palm Coast

Details: Bring your acoustic string instrument (no amplifiers), a snack, a drink and a folding chair and join other local amateur musicians for a jam session. Free. Held every fourth Friday of the month. Visit flaglerjam.com.

Community fish fry outreach event

Details: Join the church for food, fellowship and giving back to the community. The fish fry event is also a blanket and teddy bear drive for foster children.

Surfers for Autism

God's Family Bible Church Pantry food distribution

When: 10-11 a.m.

Where: Parking lot across Gods Family Bible Church, 256 Old Brick Road, Bunnell

Details: God's Family Bible Church distributes food every first and third Saturday in this drive-thru event.

Coke Zero Sugar 400 meet-and-greet

When: 1:30-2:30 p.m.

Where: Tanger Outlets, 1100 Cornerstone Blvd, Daytona Beach

Details: Tanger Outlets Daytona Beach invites the community to join NASCAR veteran Casey Mears, driver of the No. 62 Chevrolet, for a special meet-and-greet during Coke Zero Sugar 400 weekend. The event, which is held in partnership with Mears and The Gracie Foundation, will feature games, crafts, beverages and activities. A $5,000 donation will also be presented to the foundation. Free and open to the public, but wristbands are required and offered at a first-come, first-served basis starting at 12:30 p.m. 

Back to '96: Ormond MainStreet 30th anniversary party

Blood drive and pancake breakfast

When: 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Where: St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church, 1000 Ocean Shore Blvd., Ormond Beach

Details: The Knights of Columbus Council 13018 will serve a pancake breakfast at the Social Hall and the OneBlood Big Red Bus will be onsite to accept blood donations. All donors will receive a free pass to the pancake breakfast, as well as a free gift, $20 eGift card and a complimentary wellness checkup from OneBlood.The breakfast includes all the pancakes you can eat, scrambled eggs, sausage, orange juice and coffee. The breakfast for non-donors costs $6 for adults, and children under 12 eat free. All are welcome.

BAM Senior Fitness Class
