Over 90 wines. Live music. Golf. A new 5K fun run.
Hammock Beach Golf Resort & Spa will host its fourth annual Hammock Beach Food & Wine Classic from Friday through Sunday, Sept. 18-20. The oceanfront resort, located at 200 Ocean Crest Drive, stated in a press release that is building on its previous three events and bringing forth an expanded celebration to the community.
"This event has quickly become one of Hammock Beach's signature annual traditions," said Carlton Grant, managing director of Hammock Beach Golf Resort & Spa, in the press release. "Each year we continue to elevate the experience by introducing new programming that appeals to food lovers, wine enthusiasts and families alike. From exceptional culinary talent and incredible wines to live music and unique experiences, the Food &Wine Classic offers something for everyone while showcasing the best of Hammock Beach."
The weekend begins on Friday, Sept. 18, with a wine seminar led by wine educator Megan Stockton. "A Taste of Andes" will take place from 2-3 p.m. and highlight the wine regions of Chile and Argentina. The seminar costs $45 per person.
The resort's inaugural Food & Wine Classic 5K fun run will be held the morning of Saturday, Sept. 19. Resort guests, members and the local community are invited to take part in the scenic run through the Hammock Beach community.
The Food & Wine Classic Grand Tasting starts Saturday evening, where guests will be exposed to over 90 wines from around the world, gourmet tasting stations created by the resort's culinary team, a Florida craft beer garden and live entertainment. A new addition to this year's celebration is Florida artist William Lurcott, who will create an original coastal-inspired painting live during the event. The Kids Foodie Classic will also offer interactive culinary games, mocktails and hands-on activities.
Saint Johns-based band Last 2 Leave will perform as the sun sets. The dance band is composed of six musicians and vocalists.
On Sunday, Sept. 20, the resort will host the second annual Hammock Beach Food & Wine Golf Tournament, which is only open to resort guests. Tournament registration is $150 per player.
