Ormond Beach bookshop Fern & Fable Books is merging operations and space with its sister store, Ormond Collective.
The stores, owned by Rayna and Sam Dunlop, will merge into one company in late September, to be called Fern & Fable Books and Collective, according to the bookshop's newsletter on Substack. The bookshop, located at 51 W. Granada Blvd., will close its doors and relocate to the Ormond Collective building across the street, at 58 W. Granada Blvd.
"We are closing the doors of 51 W. Granada Blvd. after 3 incredible years in that sweet little shop," Fern & Fable wrote in its newsletter. "We will miss the space, it holds so many dear moments for us. But we are excited to expand and spread our wings into a larger venue!"
Ormond Collective hosts over 25 local small businesses. The vendor market will be located at the right side of the shop; the bookshop will take over the center and left side.
"Ultimately the bookshop is simply embracing the room to expand (more bookshelves, more events and a parking lot!) while still providing space for other local small businesses to thrive," Fern & Fable said.
Both stores will close the week of Sept. 20 to begin the moving process. Doors will reopen at 58 W. Granada Blvd. the following weekend.

A new Black-owned dance school recently opened in Ormond Beach, at 400 S. Atlantic Ave., Suite 114.
Movement of Elegance is owned by Cimone Williams, who is also the studio's artistic director. The studio, whose motto is "creating movement to align with purpose," offers dance with a yoga background and technique to allow individuals to move at their own pace.
Movement of Elegance offers dance classes for all age groups, starting at 2 years old. The studio also offers adult classes.

The Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce recently announced the recipients of its 2026 annual awards, recognizing local entrepreneurship, service, leadership and professional excellence.
This year's honorees are:
