Vincent’s Clubhouse has been named a Certified Autism Center, the first in Flagler County.
The International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) issues the certification, which is awarded to organizations having at least 80% of community-facing staff complete specialized autism and sensory training, according to a press release.
Vincent's Clubhouse provides innovative programs, social opportunities, family support and resources for individuals with autism and related developmental disabilities and their families. The certification recognizes the nonprofit's commitment to enhance accessibility and inclusion for individuals with developmental disabilities, the press release said.
As part of the certification process, Vincent’s Clubhouse also completed an onsite review with IBCCES to develop sensory guides and receive additional recommendations to further enhance accessibility throughout its programs and facilities.
“Becoming an IBCCES Certified Autism Center is a testament to the high standards of education and quality that are embedded in the culture of Vincent’s Clubhouse,” said Erica Flores, executive director of Vincent’s Clubhouse. “This certification reflects our organization’s ongoing commitment to learning and ensuring that every individual we serve receives respectful, person-centered support tailored to their unique strengths, needs and goals.
"Our families place tremendous trust in us, and we believe it is our responsibility to continuously improve, strengthen our knowledge and uphold the highest standards as we create meaningful opportunities for individuals with autism and related disabilities throughout every stage of life,” Flores added.
Vincent’s Clubhouse offers a wide range of evidence-based programs and services, including:
● Adult Enrichment Program for ages 18 and older
● The Workshop, an afternoon enrichment program for school-aged members
● Seasonal Enrichment Camps offered during summer, spring, and winter breaks
● Social Groups for individuals across ages and support levels
● Parent Support Groups that foster connection and encouragement
● Advocacy for individuals with autism and related cognitive differences and their families
● Educational Trainings and Workshops for parents, caregivers, professionals, and the community
● Inclusive Community Events that bring families together and create opportunities for meaningful connection
