Seth Rowe, 15, of Flagler Beach, was one of 36 "dreamers" celebrated at Dream Day on June 27 in Jacksonville. The PRI Productions and Dreams Come True event provided a special day to area children who battle life-threatening medical conditions.
The dreamers arrived dressed as their favorite characters, walked the red carpet and shared a day of entertainment, music, food and activities with their loved ones.
Rowe wore a Jacksonville Jaguars football jersey and was greeted by former Jacksonville Jaguar and Pro Football Hall of Famer Tony Boselli; Jaguars mascot Jaxson de Ville; and members of The Roar, the Jaguars cheerleading team.
Boselli and the Jaguars surprised Rowe with an official contract to be a Jacksonville Jaguar for the day, "creating a magical, memorable break from the day-to-day realities of living with cancer, twice," according to a press release.
The event drew more than 2,000 attendees and featured approximately 100 character appearances; dozens of themed performances; live bands; and national, regional and local talent. Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan made an official proclamation naming June 27 as Dream Day in Jacksonville.
