The Ormond Beach Youth Football and Cheer Association Sandcrabs, a Pop Warner football program, won four of six games against the Port Orange Hawks in their first home games of the season on Aug. 15 at the Ormond Beach Sports Complex.
The Sandcrabs are part of the East Coast Conference of Pop Warner and have over 225 athletes in football and cheer in their program this season, a record number of participants.
The Ormond Beach winning teams were 7U (36-0), 9U (33-0), 10U (32-0) and 11U (13-0). Port Orange won 12U (6-0) and 14U (20-0).
The Ormond Sandcrabs are home again on Saturday, Aug. 22, against Sanford.
Ormond Beach’s Robin Coe, the CEO of Choice Events, doing business as Winners Choice Championships, has been inducted into The Cheer Awards Hall of Fame, recognizing more than four decades of leadership in the competitive cheerleading and dance industry.
Father Lopez’s boys cross team finished 11th out of 17 teams at the Mike Gipson Summertime Run on Aug. 15 at Lake Mary High School. Liam Harman led the Green Wave with a 31st-place finish in 19 minutes, 5 seconds. Kylar Deaton was 53rd with a time of 19:56. Savannah Cox led the Father Lopez girls with a 66th-place finish in 25:31/ Jadyn Baron finished 109th in 28:41.
