3:14 p.m. — 5800 block of Mango Avenue, Bunnell
Obstruction without violence. A 39-year-old Bunnell woman was arrested after deputies searching for her on an outstanding Volusia County felony warrant found her hiding under pillows in a bedroom.
According to a Flagler County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, members of the Fugitive Apprehension Unit and other deputies went to the home to serve the warrant, which was related to a violation of probation involving possession of methamphetamine.
When deputies arrived, several people ran inside the home before eventually coming back outside. The homeowner told deputies no one else was inside, but deputies reported hearing footsteps coming from inside the residence. The homeowner then gave deputies permission to search the home.
While searching a bedroom, a deputy announced that the Sheriff’s Office was inside and warned anyone hiding to come out. The deputy lifted pillows on a bed and found the woman hiding underneath them, wedged between the mattress and a wall in an attempt to conceal herself, according to the report.
The woman was taken into custody without incident. Deputies confirmed the Volusia County warrant, and she was transported to the Flagler County jail.

Baby left alone while parents are inside bar
10:22 p.m. — Palm Harbor Village Way, Palm Coast
Child neglect. A Palm Coast couple was arrested after deputies said they left their infant unattended in a running, unlocked vehicle while they were inside a bar.
According to a Flagler County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, deputies responded after someone texted 911 to report a child left alone in a vehicle. Deputies found the vehicle running in the parking lot with the keys in the ignition and the air conditioning on. An infant was asleep in the back seat and improperly secured in a car seat. The child appeared to be in good health and had no apparent injuries.
A witness told deputies she had seen the vehicle running in the parking lot since about 10 p.m. and saw a man come outside, look inside the vehicle and return to the bar. A bartender told deputies that both parents had been drinking, though the mother had reportedly not been there long and had only a small amount to drink.
The mother told deputies she had gone inside to find her husband and get money to purchase necessities for the baby. She said she left the child in the running vehicle because smoking was allowed inside the establishment and said she returned to check on the child.
The father told deputies his wife had come to the bar for his assistance with the baby and had told him the child was outside in the running vehicle. Deputies said the parents' accounts were inconsistent with each other and with the witness's statement.
Both parents were arrested on child neglect charges and taken to the Flagler County jail. The Department of Children and Families was contacted about the incident.
