Palm Coast resident and Indian Trails Middle School student Logan Goodman, 14, was killed in a motorcycle crash on residential Blare Castle Drive in Palm Coast's Woodlands neighborhood at 7:31 p.m. Jan. 23.

Goodman was a passenger on a 2008 Suzuki GSX-R750 motorcycle driven by 20-year-old Palm Coast resident Joey Renn when the crash occurred.
Renn was heading east on Blare Castle when he "failed to negotiate a curve" near the halfway point in the street, and traveled off the roadway, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.
The motorcycle hit a mailbox, continued through a front yard and then struck a utility pole. The impact killed Goodman and left Renn with serious injuries. Renn was taken to Halifax Health hospital.
The Flagler County School District sent a crisis response team to Indian Trails Middle School on Jan. 24 to help counselors support students, teachers and staff affected by Logan Goodman's death. The crisis response team will be available as needed this coming Monday as well, according to school district Community Information Specialist Jason Wheeler.
Flagler Schools Superintendent James Tager expressed his condolences to Goodman's family.
"I join the School Board, and the entire Flagler Schools community, in saying we are deeply saddened for the family and will assist in any way possible in this sad event," Tager said in a Jan. 24 statement. "In a small community, it is never easy to accept when someone this young passes."
