American Legion Flagler Post 115 representatives George Stockley, Gene Smith and Ed Reese interviewed five potential 2010 Boys State candidates Thurs. Feb. 10, and selected two delegates, James “Avery” Eubanks and Nicholas O’Connor, and one alternate, Wesley Adams, from Flagler Palm Coast High School.

“This was the toughest class of candidates we’ve ever seen,” Stockley said.

Boys State is a comprehensive one-week leadership course in state and local government.

It offers young people a better perspective on the practical operation of government and demonstrates that the individual is responsible for the character and success of government. Delegates who are selected to attend this program will “learn by doing” as they progress through the various phases of government.
